This is an Updated version of my 2018 NFL Draft Big Board with updates based on week 2 performances.

The College Football season just wrapped up its 2nd week, but there has already been some movement in my 2018 NFL Draft Big Board. I will be publishing an update each week as we work our way to the 2018 NFL Draft.

1. Josh Allen, QB, Wyoming

Josh Allen’s game against Iowa didn’t go as he hoped, but his high upside was still very obvious. He has all the tools needed to be a top-flight NFL quarterback. The key to his success will be his ability to take to NFL coaching.

He’s my top rated player based on his physical attributes and competitiveness. Allen is someone who plays extremely hard and is capable of putting a team on his back. His gunslinger mentality is more of a positive than negative at this point in his development.

2. Sam Darnold, QB, USC

Darnold rebounded nicely from what was an uninspiring opening game against Western Michigan. His poise and overall talent were on display in USC’s victory over Stanford. It was another big win for what has already been an impressive career for Darnold.

He will be in the conversation for the No. 1 overall pick throughout the draft process. It outcome may very well come down to team preference. That is how closely I have Darnold and Josh Allen ranked.

3. Saquon Barkley, RB, Penn State

The running back position is making a bit of a comeback as far as the draft is concerned. The last two drafts have seen Ezekiel Elliott and Leonard Fournette both go inside the top-5. Penn State’s Saquon Barkley has a chance to make it three in a row.

Barkley is an explosive athlete who is a threat to score every time he touches the ball. He also is a tough runner who routinely picks up yards after first contact. Barkley skills as a pass catcher only add to his value and versatility.

4. Derwin James, DB, Florida State

Derwin James is back from last year’s injury and already making plays. He has picked up where he left off and is reestablishing himself as one of the best defenders in the country. His playmaking ability as both a run stuffer and cover guy makes him a special talent.
