Adrian Peterson vs. New England Patriots

Kareem Hunt was the big headline player from week one of the fantasy season. He put up huge numbers in helping the Kansas City Chiefs knock off the New England Patriots. As a team, the Chiefs totals 185 rushing yards while averaging 6.9 yards per carry.

Kansas City is a team that loves to feature a strong ground game. This is one of the reasons why they stuck with Hunt even though they were behind early. The same can’t be said for the New Orleans Saints who have Drew Brees under center.

However, the Saints worked hard to rebuild their offensive line and become a more physical team. They attempted 21 rushes against the Minnesota Vikings despite averaging only 2.9 yards per carry. The low man as far as touches were concerned was Adrian Peterson.

It was obvious that Peterson was extremely frustrated with his role against his former team. However, there just wasn’t any running room for any of the Saints backs. That should change against the Patriots who struggled to stuff the run against the Chiefs.

Look for Peterson to have a bigger role against New England as the Saints try and establish more of a power attack. The matchup typically dictates the game plan and this week we could see a ton of action for Peterson.
