Raiders vs Redskins: Game Pick – Carr faces Cousins in QB duel
The 2-0 Oakland Raiders go on the road to take on the 1-1 Washington Redskins in week 3. Here is the pick for Raiders vs Redskins.
The Oakland Raiders come into week 3 with two convincing wins under their belt and are looking for a third. But while they handled the Tennessee Titans and blew out the New York Jets in week 2, Raiders vs Redskins could prove a much tougher challenge.
For the Washington Redskins, they got a week 2 win themselves over the Los Angeles Rams. However, they are a team still searching for improvement from their passing game after losing their top two wide receivers in free agency. There’s talent there with Terrelle Pryor, but he’s still trying to get in sync with quarterback Kirk Cousins.
Ironically, Pryor used to be a quarterback with the Oakland Raiders. A position now held by one of the best in the league in Derek Carr. The Redskins are one of the worst in the league so far against the pass, so Carr will try to exploit that with receiver Amari Cooper. The Redskins will counter with cornerback Josh Norman.

Both teams will run the ball, as the Raiders like to pound it with Marshawn Lynch. The Washington Redskins may have to make do without leading rusher Rob Kelley, who’s battling a rib injury. However, Chris Thompson couldn’t take some of the load, with Mack Brown and rookie Samaje Perine.
Both teams have good pass rushers in Khalil Mack for the Raiders and Ryan Kerrigan for Redskins. I think Kirk Cousins and Terrelle Pryor will start to click better in week 3. However, if this game comes down to quarterbacks and I think it will, then I think Derek Carr and the Raiders have the advantage.
Carr is already in sync with his receivers while Cousins is still trying to find that. Being at home will give the Redskins a boost, but I like Carr and the Oakland Raiders to win this one on the road.
