The 1-1 Dallas Cowboys go on the road to take on the 1-1 Arizona Cardinals on Monday Night Football in week 3. Here is the pick for Cowboys vs Cardinals.

The Dallas Cowboys are coming off a bad loss to the Denver Broncos in week 2.  They were dominated on both sides of the line of scrimmage and their star players came up empty in crucial situations.  But they will look to rectify those issues in Cowboys vs Cardinals.

The Cardinals in week 2 went on the road and stole a win from the Indianapolis Colts in over time.  Now they look to keep pace with the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC West with a win over the Cowboys.

The first thing they need to do is get their running game going.  The Arizona Cardinals are averaging just 64 yards a game on the ground.  Losing David Johnson still need to a wrist injury doesn’t help, but they need to run well to take some of the pressure off quarterback Carson Palmer.

The Cardinals have a lot of speed at receiver with J.J. Nelson and John Brown, so the ability to run play-action is helpful in hitting the deep ball.  The Cowboys secondary looked vulnerable against the Denver Broncos and the Cardinals will try to take advantage.

However, after their domination in the trenches I expect the Dallas Cowboys offensive line to bounce back.  It’s rare they have a bad game, so two in a row won’t happen.  Running back Ezekiel Elliot will no doubt play with plenty of energy after being accused of quitting in week 2.

Dak Prescott will look to rebound too.  However, the Arizona Cardinals defense will have something to say about that.  They have good pass rushers like Chandler Jones and their secondary has the talent to challenge the Cowboys receivers.

But unlike the other favored teams who were upset in week 3, I think the Cowboys will prevail.  They will control the line of scrimmage and the mistakes from last week, will improve.  The Cowboys will win a close one on the road.
