These teams are very similar in how they go about their business. They like to run the football and have quarterbacks who can get the football down the field. The Chiefs’ Alex Smith is having his best season passing the football and the Redskins’ Kirk Cousins is playing well while trying to work in new receivers.
Rookie running back Kareem Hunt has been one of the league’s breakout stars this season and the Redskins must make sure they contain him. Something no other team has been able to do yet. However, the Redskins have a weapon at running back as well.
Kareem Hunt has gotten all the headlines, but Redskins running back Chris Thompson is having a huge season too. He’s emerged as one of the most dangerous weapons that no one is talking about yet. Especially as a receiver out of the backfield.

However, defense will be what decides the winner. As good as the Chiefs have been this season, they’ve given up a lot of yards on defense. But while they’ve bent some, they don’t break. The Chiefs are only giving up 19 points a game.
But the Redskins defense is only giving up 20. And while the Chiefs defense is ranked 25th in the league, the Redskins is ranked 5th. They’ve slowed down two good offenses in the Oakland Raiders and the Los Angeles Rams, and they may surprise the Chiefs with how well they’re playing.
The Redskins will put up some points and this game will be closer than most think. But ultimately the Chiefs offense is operating at a higher level and will outscore the Redskins. Chiefs go to 4-0.
