Quarterback Cam Newton leads the Carolina Panthers to a 33-30 road win over Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in week 4.

After leading his team to the Super Bowl and winning the MVP for the 2015 season, Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton slumped in 2016.  He struggled with injuries last year and had shoulder surgery in the offseason.

His production dropped and fans and pundits asked the question if Cam Newton could ever return to his MVP form?  Well, question answered.  After having a rough start to the 2017 season, Newton has proven that he can still channel that MVP form.

In week 4 on the road, Cam Newton led the Carolina Panthers to a 33-30 victory over the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots.  Newton went 22 of 29 for 316 yards and 3 touchdown passes.

He had 1 interception but added 44 yards rushing and 1 TD on the ground.  Newton barely played in the preseason and came into the regular season rusty.  But after getting a few games under his belt, the Cam Newton of 2015 is back.

Newton was also seen sliding at the end of runs against the Patriots.  Showing that he realizes he needs to protect himself better.  There were a few times where Newton still tried to run over people.  However, at least he’s trying to transform that part of his game.

The Panthers are now 3-1 and tied for the lead in the NFC South with the Atlanta Falcons.  The injury bug is biting the Falcons.  So now could be the time for the Panthers to make a run in the division.

If Cam Newton can stay healthy, then the Carolina Panthers have a great chance at returning to the playoffs this season.  However, next week the Panthers have another big test on the road as they face off against the 3-1 Detroit Lions.
