Packers vs Cowboys: Game Pick – Can Rodgers hand Boys’ third loss?
The 3-1 Green Bay Packers go on the road to take on the 2-2 Dallas Cowboys in week 5. Here is the pick for Packers vs Cowboys.
The Dallas Cowboys come into this week in huge need of a win. A loss would give the Cowboys three on the season. The same number of losses they had all of last year when they went 13-3. So Packers vs Cowboys is close to being a must win for Dallas.
The Packers are coming off two straight wins and are looking to make it three. However, those wins came against two bad teams in the Cincinnati Bengals and the Chicago Bears. So the Dallas Cowboys will present a much tougher challenge in week 5.
This season, the Dallas Cowboys running game has gone from being one of the best in the league to being average. Defenses are stacking eight men in the box and daring Dak Prescott to beat them through the air and they haven’t been able to do it consistently.

Prescott is forced to pass in more third and long situations which results in lower third down percentage and more turnovers. Dak Prescott has just 3 interceptions in four games but he only had 4 interceptions all of last season.
The Packers will use the same strategy other teams have against the Cowboys this season. Focus on stopping Ezekiel Elliot and the run and make Dak Prescott try to out-gun Aaron Rodgers. But that won’t happen.
While the Packers running game is even worse than the Cowboys, the presence of Rodgers makes it less of a priority than for the Dallas Cowboys. This will be another high scoring game but I like Aaron Rodgers ability to take over a game more than Dak Prescott’s.
The Cowboys offense is still struggling to find its identity and their passing game isn’t where it needs to be. To out-score Aaron Rodgers and the Packers, the Cowboys will need the offense humming, but it’s not there yet. The Cowboys are favored but the Packers will win.
