The New York Giants season isn’t going how they thought.  At 0-5 they probably need to start thinking about next season. Here is an early Giants Mock Draft for 2018.

The New York Giants are looking like they’re going to be near the top of the NFL draft in 2018 and some would ask why not take a quarterback in this Giants mock draft? Well, they drafted Davis Webb in the third round of the 2017 draft as their quarterback of the future.

However, they might not be able to resist taking one of the top quarterbacks in the draft.  But for this mock draft, I take them in a different direction.

1. player. 31. For now I’ll add more talent to their offensive line with their first round pick in this Giants Mock Draft. Left tackle Ereck FLowers has struggled mightily and the Giants must look for a long-term answer at that spot. Mike McGlinchey is one of the top left tackles in college football. The Giants could use his talents.. Offensive Tackle. Notre Dame. Mike McGlinchey

USC. Cameron Smith. 2. player. 31. The Giants defense hasn’t lived up to its performance from last season as of yet. The Giants don’t have a big-time play maker at linebacker so with their second pick in this Giants mock draft I get them one. Cameron Smith is the kind of linebacker that could give the Giants what they need in the middle of their defense.. Inside Linebacker

Giants
JACKSONVILLE, FL – OCTOBER 31: Sony Michel /

31. The Giants don’t have a true feature running back in their offense. The lack of a running game hurt their passing game and keeps them behind the eight ball when it comes to controlling the clock. Sony Michel can run between the tackles and has the speed to break long runs. He can also be an effective receiver out of the backfield.. Running Back. Georgia. Sony Michel. 3. player

USC. Porter Gustin. 4. player. 31. The Giants defense in 2016 was ranked in the top ten of NFL. But this season, the Giants defense ranked near the bottom of the league. They really don’t have a young, up and coming pass rusher behind Jason Pierre-Paul and Olivier Vernon. So that’s something the Giants need to address that in the draft.. Defensive End

Giants
ARLINGTON, TX – SEPTEMBER 02: Duke Dawson /

5. player. 31. The Giants have some good young talent in their secondary but they could stand to add more competition and depth at the cornerback spot.. Cornerback. Florida. Duke Dawson

giants
EAST LANSING, MI – SEPTEMBER 27: Center Brian Allen /

Guard. Michigan State. Brian Allen. 6. player. 31. The Giants need all the help they can get on the offensive line, particularly at offensive tackle. But guard is an area they could use more depth at as well.

Penn State. Daesean Hamilton. 7. player. 31. Wide receiver is a position the Giants must continue to add talent at. They’ve been hit hard with injuries this season and you can never have enough depth there.. Wide Receiver

The Giants still have Eli Manning at quarterback, although that might be changing soon.  So their biggest needs are at offensive tackle, linebacker and running back.  They can address some of that in NFL Free Agency but they need to make sure they use some of their high round draft picks to address those ares too.
