Predicting the Landing Spot for Top Potential 2018 NFL Free Agents
By Jon Dove
Terrelle Pryor
Current Team: Washington Redskins
Franchise Tag Likelihood: Extremely Low
Predicted New Team: Buffalo Bills
Terrelle Pryor’s tenure with the Washington Redskins is off to a very slow start. He has struggled to find a rhythm with quarterback Kirk Cousins. The fact that he’s on a one-year deal means that it’s likely he moves on in the offseason.
Pryor free agent market this past offseason was very dry. He didn’t get the long-term deal many felt he would on the open market. It was a major surprise to see the Cleveland Browns hand Kenny Britt a multi-year contract and let Pryor walk.
Things don’t figure to be much better for Pryor if he continues to underperform. However, he is still an elite athlete who has shown the ability to make players. There are plenty of teams who will be willing to give him another 1-year deal.
The Buffalo Bills are a team that is very thin at the wide receiver position. They could take a chance on Pryor and hope he finds the production he left behind in Cleveland. It would be a low-cost move for the Bills who are surprising a lot of teams this season.
They need to find a balance between building for the future while also remaining competitive.
