Alson Jeffery

Current Team: Philadelphia Eagles

Franchise Tag Likelihood: Extremely Low

Predicted New Team: Cleveland Browns

It’s taking awhile for Alson Jeffery to get on the same page with Carson Wentz. He has had some flashes of his big-play potential, but overall has struggled to make an impact. The problem for Jeffery is that he’s on a 1-year deal and running out of time.

He will have a hard time convincing the Philadelphia Eagles, or anyone, to give him a long-term deal with this type of production. The Chicago Bears appear to have made the right decision by allowing Jeffery to hit free agency.

However, Jeffery is someone loaded with talent and big-play potential. His size and catch radius gives him the ability to make plays downfield. He is also a major redzone threat. This is another player who won’t struggle to find teams willing to give him another 1-year deal.

The Cleveland Browns would make a lot of sense as a team with need at the position and money to spend. They could afford to give Jeffery a deal similar to what he got this year and hope he finds his old production.

It’s also possible that the Eagles give him one more year to find a role within their offense.
