It was a busy week in the NFL with several trades that had an impact on this newest projected 2018 NFL Draft Order.

This week I changed things up a little by using MMQB/SI’s latest Power Rankings to develop my projected 2018 NFL Draft Order. The past few weeks I have used ESPN’s Power Rankings. This change adjusted the order in several spots.

1. Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns botched A.J. McCarron trade means they must move forward with DeShone Kizer under center. This is just another example of why a franchise like the Browns continue to be among the worst in the league.

2. San Francisco 49ers

San Francisco’s trade to land Jimmy Garoppolo certainly brings some optimism for the rest of the year. Garoppolo will need time to learn the offense, but he’s an immediate talent upgrade.

3. Indianapolis Colts

It’s looking more and more possible that Andrew Luck will miss the entire season. There really isn’t much information to go on other than Luck has yet to make it through a full week of practice. Jacoby Brissett has shown some upside, but he’s nowhere near Luck’s level.

4. Arizona Cardinals

Without Carson Palmer and David Johnson the Arizona Cardinals just don’t have enough firepower to win many games.

5. New York Giants

The Giants are a complete mess on the field and in the locker room. The latest situation has resulted in Janoris Jenkins being suspended indefinitely.

6. Chicago Bears

The rest of this year is about developing Mitch Trubisky for the Chicago Bears. They need to ensure he gets enough experience that he’s ready to make the Bears relevant next year. Their defense is playing well enough for them to win a few more games.

7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tampa Bay has been a complete disappointment this year. They are quickly falling out of the playoff picture which was something they felt they were ready for this season.

8. Miami Dolphins

Adam Gase appears to be putting a lot of players on the chopping block. The trade of Jay Ajayi was a big surprise and leaves this team with a hole at the running back position.
