The Houston Texans looked Doomed without Deshaun Watson
By Jon Dove
This past weekend was a great opportunity for the Houston Texans to show they can survive without Deshaun Watson, but they were unable to secure the win.
The Houston Texans have dealt with some major injuries this year losing J.J. Watt and Whitney Mercilus, but the biggest loss was Deshaun Watson. This was a team that was starting to explode offensively with Watson under center.

It’s obvious that this unit is a completely different group with Tom Savage at quarterback. This past weekend was a great example of what we can expect from the Texans for the rest of t he year.
Savage and the offense looked sluggish and were ineffective against the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts aren’t an overly talented team and have their share of problems on the defensive side of the ball.
It was an awful performance by Savage who completed only 43% of his passes for 212 yards. The loss dropped the Texans to 3-5 and puts them on the outside of the division race. Things don’t look promising for this team to make a run at the playoffs.
Unfortunately for the Texans Savage represents their best option at the quarterback position. It seems unlikely that this team will be the one to workout and sign Colin Kaepernick. The truth is that Kaepernick might not be that much of an upgrade over Savage.
Bill O’Brien may need to work some magic by adjusting his playbook. Otherwise, the Texans appear on the verge of a long losing streak.
It’s a complete 360 from where this team was a week ago. They were coming off a close loss to the Seattle Seahawks that saw Waston go toe-to-toe with the vaunted Seahawks defense. Now, they are looking for answers with little hope of finding any.
