The top names that would consider moving on to the NFL are Tarvarus McFadden, Josh Sweat, Auden Tate and Derwin James. It’s possible that each of these players would’ve entered the draft even if Fisher stuck around.
All for of these prospects have a legitimate chance of being selected in the 1st round. James is the most touted of them and could be a top-10 pick.
Quarterback Deondre Francois will be an interesting player to watch during this upheaval. Fisher is known for his ability to develop quarterbacks and Francois was on the draft radar before his injury against Alabama.
It would be a shock if he bolted to the NFL, but we have seen stranger things happen when it involves a coaching change and a young quarterback.
Francois is a good athlete who plays with excellent balance. His poise in the pocket and toughness is something evaluators look for in a quarterback prospect. He has more than enough arm strength and has flashed good accuracy.
The injury obviously hurts his overall draft stock and limits his available tape. However, Francois might not feel comfortable working in the new coaches system and thus see this as his best chance to jump to the NFL.
