The San Francisco 49ers are set with Jimmy Garoppolo

Jimmy Garoppolo is 3-0 as the San Francisco 49ers starting quarterback and proving he’s excellent long-term potential.

The San Francisco 49ers look like a completely different team with Jimmy Garoppolo under center. His overall accuracy and confidence has spread across the offense. Marquise Goodwin has been the biggest benefactor to Garoppolo’s presence.

Over the past three games, Goodwin is averaging over 100 receiving yards and 8 catches per game. He is showing that he is capable of being much more than just a deep threat.

San Francisco appears to have found a long-term piece at wide receiver which was an area of concern heading into the season. Goodwin is someone they can build around as a solid No. 2 target.

The 49ers still have Pierre Garcon as a veteran presence, but need to add a true No. 1 receiver with huge upside.

This should be an interesting offseason for the 49ers who have a chance to make some major additions. They will enter free agency with around $59 Million and plenty of draft ammunition. It’s possible they can plug most of their roster holes.

Garoppolo’s emergence also makes the 49ers a strong candidate to jump into the playoff mix. We’ve seen teams like the Los Angeles Rams have a quick turnaround after improved play at the quarterback position.

There’s obviously going to be a lot of pressure on Garoppolo, Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch to show progress quicker than expected. It’ll be interesting to see if the right pieces to the puzzle can be added in just one offseason.
