By Jon Dove
The Senior Bowl isn’t too far off and a lot of prospects are already accepting invites. This year’s quarterback group features several intriguing prospects.
Every year there are several NFL Draft prospects who use the Senior Bowl to improve their draft stock. This is especially true for the quarterback position where coaches and scouts get better access to the player.

The way a quarterback prepares, handles himself in practice and communicates with his teammates are important skills. These are several things that scouts get a better feel for during the Senior Bowl process.
This year’s quarterback group includes Oklahoma State’s Mason Rudolph, Washington State’s Luke Falk, Virginia’s Kurt Benkert, Western Kentucky’s Mike White and Richmond’s Kyle Lauletta.
Rudolph and Falk might have the most to gain as they have a chance to sneak into the 1st round mix. Of the two, Rudolph looks like the better prospect and someone who can really succeed at the next level.
Falk’s star has fallen a little thanks to some odd decisions by his coach Mike Leach. There were a few occasions where Falk was pulled from the game due to his performance. However, a closer look would show that Falk was far from the problem.
White is one of my sleeper prospects in the draft and has a chance to really help himself at the Senior Bowl. He has enjoyed an excellent college career while displaying pro-ready talents. White has good arm talent while also showing poise in the pocket.
Benkert is a prospect who has gained a lot of love throughout the season. However, he is also someone who I haven’t had a chance to completely scout.
