NFL Free Agency: Breakdown of Potential Available Free Agents

With only four teams remaining in the playoffs many other teams are looking towards NFL Free Agency to fill their needs.

ESPN’s Kevin Seifert has released his top-50 players potentially available in NFL Free Agency. This list features some high-profile names that could change teams. However, there are also players on this list who won’t hit the open market and likely to receive the franchise tag.

This year’s free agent market is very unique in that there are several potential starting quarterbacks available.

At the top of that list is Kirk Cousins who is joined by Jimmy Garoppolo, Drew Brees, Case Keenum, Sam Bradford and Teddy Bridgewater. It’s expected that both Garoppolo and Brees will stick with their current teams.

The trio of Minnesota Vikings quarterbacks should be the most fun to watch. Minnesota needs to decide who they feel is the best player to keep on board. The way Keenum has played it would be safe to assume he will be the choice.

However, Bridgewater still has plenty of value and if his knee checks out could make the decision tougher.

The wide receiver market could offer teams some talented options. Jarvis Landry has been the most productive and doesn’t seem guaranteed to return to the Miami Dolphins.

Allen Robinson comes with some risk due to his ACL injury, but was dominant when healthy. The Jaguars Marquis Lee is also scheduled to be a free agent.

It stands to reason that the Los Angeles Rams will keep Sammy Watkins in place with the franchise tag. They gave too much to allow him to walk.

Defensively, the cornerback position looks like a group that could see a lot of action. They are led by Trumaine Johnson, Bashaud Breeland, Aaron Colvin and Malcolm Butler.

Last year we saw several cornerbacks score huge contracts and we should expect more of the same this offseason.
