2018 NFL Mock Draft: Quick Update on Senior Bowl Week
By Jon Dove
The Senior Bowl practices are over and now it’s time to get an updated 2018 NFL Mock Draft in the books.
This is a quick update to my 2018 NFL Mock Draft that features some adjustments after the Senior Bowl. There are also a few changes because I’ve been able to get more scouting done and thus update my opinion on each prospect.
Check back later for the 2nd Round of this mock draft!
1. Cleveland Browns– Josh Rosen, QB, UCLA
The Browns must go with a quarterback here unless they target a big fish via free agency.
2. New York Giants– Josh Allen, QB, Wyoming
New York won’t have many opportunities to land an elite quarterback prospect moving forward so they must pounce now.
3. Indianapolis Colts– Bradley Chubb, Edge, NC State
Chubb is a beast off the edge and will immediately boost the Colts defense.
4. Cleveland Browns (via Hou)– Saquon Barkley, RB, Penn State
Barkley and Rosen would be a great 1st round combo for the Browns.
5. Denver Broncos– Sam Darnold, QB, USC
Landing Darnold would represent a major win for the quarterback-needy Broncos.
6. New York Jets– Baker Mayfield, QB, Oklahoma
Mayfield really helped himself this week at the Senior Bowl.

7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers– Minkah Fitzpatrick, DB, Alabama
Fitzpatrick is a playmaker and immediate starter.
8. Chicago Bears– Tremaine Edmunds, LB, Virginia Tech
Edmunds is a versatile piece who can work at inside linebacker and rush off the edge on 3rd down.
9. Oakland Raiders– Mike McGlinchey, OT, Notre Dame
McGlinchey is as steady as it comes at the tackle position.
10. San Francisco 49ers– Calvin Ridley, WR, Alabama
Ridley has big-play ability while providing a reliable target.
11. Miami Dolphins– Quenton Nelson, OG, Notre Dame
Nelson is a mauler who will open tons of running room.
12. Cincinnati Bengals– Chukwuma Okorafor, OT, Western Michigan
Okorafor is my top rated tackle and has a chance to be really special.
13. Washington Redskins– Derwin James, S, Florida State
James won’t fall much futher than here and would give the Redskins a leader on the back end.
14. Green Bay Packers– Vita Vea, DT, Washington
There just aren’t many humans with Vea’s size/quickness combo.
15. Arizona Cardinals– Connor Williams, OT, Texas
Arizona needs to solidify the offensive line before they address the quarterback need.
16. Baltimore Ravens– Orlando Brown Jr., OT, Oklahoma
Brown Jr. will be a great addition for the Ravens and give them bookend tackles with Ronnie Stanley.
17. Los Angeles Chargers– Ronnie Harrison, S, Alabama
Harrison is a rangy safety who knows how to find the football.
18. Seattle Seahawks– Sam Hubbard, Edge, Ohio State
Hubbard is an underrated player who will bring pressure off the edge.
19. Dallas Cowboys– Roquan Smith, LB, Georgia
Smith would be a great fit at WILL linebacker in the Cowboys system.
20. Detroit Lions– Arden Key, Edge, LSU
Key is a bit of a wildcard but there’s no denying his raw talent.
21. Buffalo Bills– Rashaan Evans, LB, Alabama
Evans is capable of playing multiple roles on a defense, but is a great fit at inside linebacker.
22. Buffalo Bills (via KC)– Derrius Guice, RB, LSU
Guice is a tough runner who also has the juice to break off long runs.
23. Los Angeles Rams– Uchenna Nwosu, Edge, USC
Nwosu does a good job setting the edge against the run, but his value is as a pass rusher.
24. Carolina Panthers– Kolton Miller, OT, UCLA
Miller needs some time to develop, but he would an immediate upgrade as a pass protector.
25. Tennessee Titans– Ogbonnia Okoronkwo, Edge, Oklahoma
Okoronkwo is underrated and has a chance to be a difference maker off the edge.
26. Atlanta Falcons– Da’Ron Payne, DT, Alabama
Payne excels at eating up blockers and would be the Falcons replacement for Dontari Poe.
27. New Orleans Saints– Darius Philllips, CB, Western Michigan
Phillips has the size, speed and instincts to be a great complement to Marshon Lattimore.
28. Pittsburgh Steelers– Christian Kirk, WR, Texas A&M
Kirk may lack elite size, but he’s a playmaker and excellent route runner.
29. Jacksonville Jaguars– James Washington, WR, Oklahoma State
Washington would give the Jaguars another weapon and insurance if Allen Robinson or Marquis Lee leave via free agency.
30. Philadelphia Eagles– Carlton Davis, CB, Auburn
Davis is a bigger cornerback who can win in contested situations.
31. Minnesota Vikings– Mike Hughes, CB, UCF
Hughes is a feisty defender who uses his speed to close on the football.
32. New England Patriots– Mason Rudolph, QB, Oklahoma State
The Patriots will come out of this draft with a quarterback. This seems like a great spot to target a signal caller.
