2018 NFL Draft: Kentavius Street Scouting Report
By Jon Dove
NC State’s Kentavius Street is one of the more interesting edge defenders in the 2018 NFL Draft class.
Kentavius Street features a bulky frame that includes a thick bubble. He lacks the ideal measurables most evaluators look for in an edge defender. The biggest concern will be his lack of length when compared to the rest of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Street’s lack of length impacts his ability to consistently gain inside hand placement. However, he is a hard worker and does fight for position. Street also has quick hands that helps keep blockers off his frame.
This is an active defender who is constantly working towards the football. His aggressiveness as a pass rusher makes the blocker continuously on their toes.

Street’s pass rushing success at this stage of his development depends on his quick 1st step. He does a good job timing the snap and getting a good jump. This allows him to attack the edge where he shows the balance to flatten out.
The problem is that Street doesn’t have elite quickness and will need to develop a wider array of pass rush moves in order to develop into a consistent threat.
As a run defender, Street shows the ability to hold at the point of attack. His commitment to keeping his pads down helps him maintain leverage. Street will need to continue to fight for inside hands in order to be an average run defender.
Overall, Street flashes some playmaking ability but just lacks the top-end measurables to be seen as a strong prospect. He is someone who should make a roster, but will be see more as a situational player.
