Nevada’s Austin Corbett is a 2018 NFL Draft prospect who plays with a nasty demeanor.

Austin Corbett spent this past season lining up at left tackle for an awful Nevada team. However, he stands out as one of the more physical and nasty players in the 2018 NFL Draft. Corbett is someone who really wants deliver a hit drive the defender into the ground.

His aggressiveness as a run blocker helps him generate push off the line. He routinely fires off the ball, rolls his hips and delivers a strong punch.

Once engaged, Corbett latches to his target and keeps his legs driving. This is what helps him create a push and open running lanes. His toughness and nasty approach are what evaluators want to see in an offensive line prospect.

This is a solid athlete who can make blocks on the move. He also flashes the quickness to throw blocks out on the edge.

However, Corbett can be a little stiff and show to shuffle his feet. This hurts his ability to hold up in space and protect the passer. His limited foot speed is the main reason why Corbett is facing a move to guard at the next level.

By moving inside, Corbett’s shortcomings will be hidden. It will also help him play to his strength as a powerful force.

However, completely ruling out Corbett playing offensive tackle in the NFL would be a mistake. It’s important to note that Nevada’s offense didn’t provide him with a lot of experience working in pro-sets. They featured quick hitting passes that didn’t require Corbett to protect for long stretches or even work with proper technique.

Corbett’s raw athleticism means that with the right coaching he could eventually get a shot to play tackle in the NFL. However, he is ready to contribute as a guard right away.
