NFL Team Needs: Seattle Seahawks Team Needs
By Jon Dove
The Seattle Seahawks are facing an uphill battle to fill all their team needs and keep pace with the rest of the league.
It’s going to be a rough offseason for the Seattle Seahawks who a lot of team needs and not much ammo to make moves. They not only need to find starters at certain positions but they also need depth across the roster.
Seattle has several high profile players dealing with injury concerns that threaten their availability. This includes Legion of Boom members Cliff Avril, Cam Chancellor and Richard Sherman.
Overall, the defense has problems on all levels and could really use an infusion of young talent.
The biggest problem for Seattle is that they are only projected to have $14 million in cap space and two picks in the first 4 rounds of the 2018 NFL Draft. They are without picks in the 2nd and 3rd rounds this year.
Below are the Seattle Seahawks top-3 team needs:
1. Tight End
Seattle’s top two tight ends, Jimmy Graham and Luke Willson, are pending free agents. They will have a tough time re-signing either of them because of their shaky cap situation. The best option still on the roster is the inexperienced Nick Vannett.

It seems like the best option for the Seahawks might be to go bargain hunting on the free agent market. However, this year’s draft has some interesting tight end prospect who could be an option for Seattle.
The Seahawks lack of draft capital increases the likelihood they trade down in the 1st round to pick up some extra picks. This is a strategy they have utilized multiple times in the past.
2. Right Tackle
Germain Ifedi has failed as an offensive tackle and needs to move inside to salvage his career. His struggles on the outside have made life miserable for Russell Wilson. Seattle needs to use whatever assets they have available to improve the overall talent across the offensive line.
They might have a chance to land someone like Notre Dame’s Mike McGlinchey if they stand pat at pick No. 18.
3. Wide Receiver
Paul Richardson is coming off a solid year and heading into free agencies. Like Jimmy Graham, Seattle doesn’t have the cap space to keep Richardson in the mix. This would mean the Seahawks are potentially losing two of their top pass catchers.
