5. Cleveland Browns, Option 1

The obvious answer is that the Buffalo Bills should trade up with the Cleveland Browns. Cleveland owns the No. 1 and No. 4 overall selections in the 2018 NFL Draft, and could be willing to part with one of the two selections for an ideal cost.

In this scenario, the Bills move up to No. 4 and ensure the possibility of selecting one of the top quarterbacks in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Buffalo walks away with the No. 4, No. 53, 46, No. 64, and No. 65 in the 2018 NFL Draft—quite a position to find itself in over the first two days of the event. Cleveland ends up with picks No. 4, No. 12, No. 22, No. 33, No. 35, and No. 56 overall selections.

Both franchises have an opportunity to change their misfortune by drafting as many as five players in the first 65 picks of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Cleveland can walk away with three first-round draft picks, while Buffalo can end up with a franchise quarterback and a decent amount of depth. It’s not the most appealing of trades for Buffalo, but trading into the top five has been costlier than this.

Buffalo will be tested on how badly it wants a quarterback when other teams on the board don’t have the negotiating disadvantage of owning as many picks as Cleveland.
