4. Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos have reason to stay put, but they also have reason to move back.. Denver would likely receive a more limited return than most, but if the organization is all-in on Kirk Cousins and successfully signs him, it should seriously consider moving back.

With big contracts spread around the roster and multiple needs on offense, the organization could address those issues with this trade.

Selecting Quenton Nelson at No. 5 should be a top priority, but the Broncos may be thinking otherwise. Nevertheless, if Denver signs Cousins—or any other quarterback, for that matter—it must improve an offensive line that Pro Football Focus ranked No. 23 in the NFL in 2017.

This trade would enable Denver to move back to No. 12 to select an offensive lineman and then add another impact player at No. 22—whether that be another lineman or a player elsewhere.

The reason Buffalo may be inclined to give up less than one of its second or third-round draft picks is the possibility of multiple targets being off the board by No. 5. The Cleveland Browns may still draft a quarterback at No. 1 or No. 4, as may the New York Giants at No. 2.

Nevertheless, both teams would walk away winners in a scenario that could provide the two franchises with the pieces they need.
