Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson has envisioned a scenario in which Bradley Chubb and Myles Garrett are bookending his defensive line.

The Cleveland Browns hold an advantage over teams that isn’t discussed quite often enough. While most franchises are looking for an anchor along the defensive line, Cleveland found that rising star in 2017: Myles Garrett.

As April 27 approaches, Browns head coach Hue Jackson is envisioning a scenario where Garrett is playing opposite the No. 1 edge defender in the class of 2018: Bradley Chubb.

Cleveland is in a unique position in the sense that it possesses two of the first four picks in the 2018 NFL Draft. Jackson publicly acknowledged that the Browns will select a quarterback at No. 1, but the options remain open at No. 4.

According to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, Jackson admitted that he’s envisioned a defensive line that features both Garrett and Chubb.

"“I do at nighttime when I’m by myself,” Jackson said Tuesday at the NFL Annual Meeting coaches breakfast. “You kind of play that scenario game with all these different guys. I wish I could have them all. There will be good scenarios as we come down to the end here.”"

There are a vast number of options for the Browns to consider, but Chubb could prove to be the most rewarding of all.

Garrett was sensational as a rookie, recording 7.0 sacks in just 11 games played. Pro Football Focus graded him as the No. 12 edge defender in the NFL in 2017, with top-15 marks in both pass rushing and run defense.

That same versatility can be found in Chubb, who has earned as much praise for his pass-rushing ability as he has his instincts as a run defender.

With Chubb on one end of the line and Garrett on the other, the Browns would immediately legitimize their front seven.

It’s certainly possible that Chubb will be off the board before Cleveland can have a chance to select him at No. 4 overall. With the Browns themselves going quarterback at No. 1 and the New York Jets expected to do the same at No. 3, however, that only leaves the New York Giants at No. 2.

New York could certainly replace Jason Pierre-Paul with Chubb, but there’s a good possibility that he’ll still be on the board at No. 4 overall.
