If the Dallas Cowboys are looking for a crisp route runner who can simply be reliable in the passing game, then Calvin Ridley is the best bet. He’s capable of making explosive plays, but the key here is that Dallas won’t have to worry about his ability to simply contribute.

Whether it’s a matter of picking up a first down, beating a defense over the top, or making a play on a deep throw, Ridley can do it all.

Ridley won’t blow you away physically, but he’s one of the smoothest wide receiver prospects to come along in quite some time. He has long strides and exquisite footwork, which is the foundation for everything a wide receiver attempts to achieve in the NFL.

His breaks are clean and his ability to make plays on the ball is enabled by his advanced body control for a player at this stage of their development.

In Dallas, Ridley would slide into a role that he could likely handle. Allen Hurns has big play ability when healthy and Jason Witten is still reliable as a checkdown target, which means Ridley could put the vast array of his versatility on full display.

Some might question if Ridley will fall to No. 19 overall, but if he does, the Dallas Cowboys should give serious consideration to selecting him.
