The 2018 NFL Draft Class features some high profile safety prospects at the top of the board and some with sleeper potential further on down.

We could hear a handful of safety prospects selected in the earlier parts of the 2018 NFL Draft. One prospect, Minkah Fitzpatrick, shows up in my cornerback rankings but can also be seen as a safety.

This position not only has some early round talent as it also features good depth with intriguing later round prospects.

Below is my final 2018 NFL Draft Safety Rankings:

1. Derwin James, Florida State

Big Board Rank: No. 11

James is as physically gifted as anyone in this entire draft class. He also has a strong feel for the game and should be able to make an immediate impact. It’ll be interesting to see how he is utilized at the next level.

2. Ronnie Harrison, Alabama

Big Board Rank: No. 16

Harrison has a ton of range on the back end of the defense. He is someone who can hold up in deep coverage, work in the slot and play near the line of scrimmage. His versatility will be a main factor to his success.

3. Kyzir White, West Virginia

Big Board Rank: No. 48

White plays like his hair is on fire and in attack mode. He is a sound tackler who doesn’t hesitate to work near the line of scrimmage. His coverage skills are underrated and still developing.

4. Armani Watts, Texas A&M

Big Board Rank: No. 57

More from With the First Pick

Watts is an explosive athlete who has the ball skills to be a major turnover threat. He needs to be a little more consistent but there’s huge upside here.

5. Jessie Bates III, Wake Forest

Big Board Rank: No. 85

Bates is a smooth athlete with the potential to fit at either safety or cornerback.

6. Terrell Edmunds, Virginia Tech

Big Board Rank: No. 86

7. Justin Reid, Stanford

Big Board Rank: No. 87

8. Quin Blanding, Virginia

Big Board Rank: No. 101

9. DeShon Elliott, Texas

Big Board Rank: No. 107

10. Van Smith, Clemson

Big Board Rank: No. 147

11. Tre Flowers, Oklahoma State

Big Board Rank: No. 157

12. Marcus Allen, Penn State

Big Board Rank: No. 158
