The Oakland Raiders biggest splash this offseason was luring Jon Gruden out of retirement, but  they also made some solid roster moves.

Jon Gruden has been out of coaching for a long time and could deal with some growing pains. The game has change a great deal since he was on the sidelines last. However, he is hoping several key additions to the Oakland Raiders can ease the process.

The wide receiver position had the biggest facelift with Jordy Nelson, Martavis Bryant and Ryan Switzer added to replace Michael Crabtree. Nelson is coming off an injury-plagued season that made him expendable in Green Bay.

It will be interesting to see if age and injuries have finally caught up to him. Bryant is a big-time playmaker who comes with off-field trouble. Switzer is a shifty route runner who can work out of the slot and on the outside.

Amari Cooper remains in the mix, but his drop issues are a cause for concern.

More from With the First Pick

Oakland used their 1st round pick to bolster the offensive line talent. Kolton Miller is an extremely athletic lineman who will need some time to develop. However, he will be given a chance to win the starting right tackle job in training camp.

Doug Martin fizzled out in Tampa Bay and will now serve as one of Marshawn Lynch‘s backups. We shouldn’t expect much production out of Martin.

Defensively, the Raiders focused on beefing up the defensive line. They drafted Maurice Hurst, PJ Hall and Arden Key. All three players should be able to compete for immediate playing time. Hall may be counted on the most thanks to his ability to stuff the run.

The Raiders needed to add some help in the secondary but only came away with rookie Nick Nelson. This is a decision that could come back to haunt them as we head to the regular season.
