The 2019 NFL Draft could feature as many as four QBs in the first round, with Missouri’s Drew Lock potentially climbing into the first 10 picks.

Missouri quarterback Drew Lock is an intriguing (to say the least) prospect in the 2019 NFL draft. He has all the physical tools scouts desire from a potential franchise passer, but his film is littered with inconsistency and, at times, wildly inaccurate passes.

But this is Draft season after all, and the closer we get to April, scouts and evaluators tend to ignore warts on tape.

It appears that’s what’s happening with Lock, who held his Pro Day Thursday and was pretty much the guy we’ve seen on film, according to NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah.

“It wasn’t a perfect workout in terms of ball placement,” Jeremiah said, “but you can see the athleticism, you can see the arm strength, his ability to power the ball, especially working in the middle of the field was excellent.”

Lock’s been building momentum as a potential early first-round pick since the Senior Bowl, and now it appears like a safe bet that he’ll be one of the first 15 players drafted. He’s been invited to attend the Draft in Nashville, an invitation usually reserved for players who are expected to be drafted early.

And if his pre-draft meetings are any indication of his draft stock, he won’t be waiting around long.

Lock has dates scheduled with the Jaguars (No. 7 pick), Broncos (No. 10 pick), Dolphins (No. 13 pick) and Redskins (No. 15 pick), according to Yahoo Sports’ Terez Paylor.

Lock finished the 2018 season completing nearly 63 percent of his passes for 3,498 yards, 28 touchdowns and eight interceptions. It was the best completion percentage of his college career, but his touchdown and yardage totals dipped from 2017.

The NFL is searching for young quarterbacks, and even if there are obvious flaws like those that exist in Lock’s game, a player with his upside will always be a hot commodity. We’re seeing it play out before our eyes in the 2019 NFL draft.
