Round 2, Pick 39: Chris Lindstrom | iOL | Boston College

Boston College’s Chris Lindstrom is the anti-Rashan Gary in the sense that he’s one of the safest and easiest-to-predict prospects in this year’s class. He’s a plug-and-play starter at guard from Day 1, and he’ll provide Jameis Winston with the kind of reliable pass protection he’s been lacking in recent years.

The Buccaneers hit on Ali Marpet a few years back and locked him up on a big-money long-term extension. Pairing Marpet with Lindstrom will turn Tampa Bay’s interior offensive line into one of the most promising young groups in the NFC.

Lindstrom, a veteran of 47 collegiate starts, is one of the most pro-ready prospects in the draft and with Tampa Bay taking a riskier approach in Round 1, adding Lindstrom here will give the fan base a reason to exhale.
