Round 4, Pick 111: Ross Pierschbacher | iOL | Alabama

It’s time to beef up the offensive line a bit, and Alabama’s Ross Pierschbacher offers great value here in the fourth round. He’s a four-year starter in the SEC and while he’s been knocked a bit because he isn’t a classic mauler, guys like Pierschbacher tend to outplay their draft slot and turn into above-average starters.

This pick would represent nice value for the Lions because of Piershbacher’s positional versatility. He’s a two-for-one player; he can line up at either center or guard in the NFL.

Round 5, Pick 146: Jakobi Meyers | WR | NC State

The Lions will draft a receiver in 2019. There’s little doubt about that. The question, however, is when. In this mock draft, they grab one in Round 5.

Jakobi Meyers is an interesting and intriguing prospect because he played in the shadow of Kelvin Harmon at NC State, but at times, he looked like a more exciting NFL prospect.

Meyers had 92 catches for 1,047 yards and four touchdowns in 2018. In 2017, Meyers totaled 727 yards and five scores. He ran an underwhelming 4.63 40-yard dash at the NFL combine and that’s likely to push him down into this middle portion of Day 3.

Meyers won’t ever be the kind of downfield playmaker the Lions could certainly use, but his ability to evolve into a nice possession receiver will make him an appealing option at No. 146.
