The first round of the 2019 NFL draft concluded with the New England Patriots selecting Arizona State wide receiver N’Keal Harry, and after nearly four hours of picks, trades and surprising storylines, several top prospects remain on the board entering Day 2.

The quarterback position will always receive the most attention, and one of this year’s top passers, Missouri’s Drew Lock, is still available. Once considered a candidate to be the first quarterback drafted, Lock’s inconsistency ultimately doomed his first-round status. At this point, however, he represents great value for a team searching for a developmental prospect who can develop on the bench without the pressure that comes along with being a first-round pick.

West Virginia’s Will Grier is another appealing quarterback prospect who wasn’t expected to be a first-rounder, but he’ll be one of the more coveted players on the board in the early portion of Day 2.

Teams looking for help at wide receiver will love the board, too. The duo of dominant Ole Miss receivers — D.K. Metcalf and A.J. Brown — are still waiting for their names to be called, as is Iowa State’s Hakeem Butler. There should be a furious run on pass catchers in the second round.

Don’t forget about Alabama tight end Irv Smith. He projects as an equally appealing weapon in the passing game as any of the receivers still available.

Several talented offensive linemen have slipped out of the first round, too. Oklahoma’s Cody Ford and Kansas State’s Dalton Risner are plug-and-play starters and will probably be targeted by teams looking to trade into the first five selections on Friday.

Only one cornerback — Georgia’s DeAndre Baker (Giants) was selected Thursday night, leaving teams with a plethora of talent to choose from in the second round. Washington’s Byron Murphy, LSU’s Greedy Williams and Temple’s Rock Ya-Sin all garnered first-round grades and will be strong candidates for the Cardinals at the top of the second round.

And, as always, Day 2 is all about running backs. Penn State’s Miles Sanders, Iowa State’s David Montgomery and Memphis’ Darrell Henderson are all on the board and ready to become instant impact players born from the second or third round.
