4. Deebo Samuel – San Francisco 49ers

Samuel certainly does not have the same benefit of a lack of competition for targets as McLaurin. He will have to share the ball with the likes of Dante Pettis, George Kittle and Marquise Goodwin, as well as a loaded backfield featuring talented receivers in Tevin Coleman and Jerick McKinnon.

But he is still expected to jump straight into a starting role at the Z receiver position across from Pettis and is an ideal fit for the Kyle Shanahan system, at least on the basis of his South Carolina tape.

If Samuel continues to excel creating separation with his route-running and picking up yards after the catch on short and intermediate routes over the middle that are a Shanahan staple, then he should become a favorite target of Jimmy Garoppolo, providing the quarterback stays healthy for a full season.

With everyone healthy, Shanahan’s offense can be one of the most prolific in the league. Being a favorite target in such an attack is a great position to be in and, though he may not immediately feel the benefit of playing in such a scheme because of the Niners’ other weapons, Samuel’s fit in the offense makes him a high-upside option who offers significant long-term value to dynasty players.
