In this 53-man roster series, we will try to predict which players will make every team’s final squad. Next up, the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Los Angeles Chargers went into the postseason looking like one of the teams to beat on the way to the Super Bowl. However, injuries piled up on the defensive side of the ball and they ran into the buzzsaw that is the New England Patriots which ended their postseason early.

The Chargers were able to add much-needed depth this offseason and once again look like a legitimate Super Bowl contender in 2019. While the contract situation of Melvin Gordon is something to watch, the Chargers will be a scary team to play throughout the year.

Quarterbacks

  • Philip Rivers
  • Tyrod Taylor

Philip Rivers has been a very good quarterback for a very long time for the Chargers. He is often a forgotten man when talking about the best at the position but definitely deserves to be in the competition. Tyrod Taylor is a veteran who has been successful in multiple roles and bring extra athleticism to the unit that Rivers doesn’t possess.
