Javon Kinlaw may need a bit more polish than the other players on this list, but he is still a fine prospect.

Kinlaw, despite his 6’6″ frame, plays with a low center of gravity. He’s wise enough to use his length against all types of blocking schemes. His explosive burst and powerful hands are often his most valuable tools to quickly beating the man in front of him.

Though he’s a bit raw as a pass rusher, he shows great potential to be an interior threat in the passing game. He’s fast and smart with his hands. With some coaching, he can broaden his moveset to make more of a presence in the backfield. Beyond that, he’s shown a powerful bull rush that consistently gives him great push into the backfield.

His run defense could use a bit more work. He handles blockers well, keeping enough separation to shed blocks. However, if he gets caught for too long, he can lose the runner easily. It’s a bit of a catch-22 for him because it’d hurt his play more to ask him to play taller to see the play develop.

Overall, Kinlaw is an excellent athlete at the position. He’ll need to land with a good team with experienced players around him to bring him along. Luckily, in a way, he’s looking at a mid-to-late first-round selection, which could help put him in a favorable position.
