Ranking the top 5 NFL rookies at the quarter pole
2. Terry McLaurin – Washington Redskins
The Washington Redskins have done little to scare anybody in their first four games. However, the man known as ‘Scary Terry’ has at least provided a bright spot in the opening quarter of the campaign.
Second-round pick McLaurin missed the dismal Week 4 loss to the New York Giants through injury, his absence depleting a talent-poor offense on which he has comfortably been the best player.
McLaurin has utilized his speed superbly well to make plays downfield consistently and has also proven effective in the congested area in the red zone.
Averaging 16.1 yards per reception, McLaurin has 257 yards and three touchdowns in games against tough defenses in the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Bears.
Back healthy again, McLaurin will face the best defense in the NFL when the Redskins take on the New England Patriots. A lot more people will start taking notice of him if he shines against the defending Super Bowl champions.
