2019 Heisman Trophy Watch: Week 7
Last week vs. (7) Florida: 21-for-24 (87.5%)| 293 yards| 3 TD| 0 INT| 6 rushes| 43 yards| 0 TD
Season Stats: 148-for-186 (79.6%)| 2,157 yards| 25 TD| 3 INT| 35 rushes| 105 yards| 2 TD
There has become two clear tiers in the race for the Heisman Trophy. The top three, Burrow, Hurts, and Tagovailoa, and everyone else. Burrow put on an absolute clinic last week versus arguably the best defense LSU has faced this season in Florida. All he ended up doing was completing all but three of his passes for nearly 300 yards and three touchdowns. That performance makes Burrow the nation’s leader among quarterbacks in completion percentage and quarterback rating while ranking second in passing yards and passing touchdowns. Burrow’s Heisman chances, along with LSU’s playoff hopes, likely comes down to the showdown with Tua Tagovailoa and Alabama in the coming weeks.
Burrow and LSU look to remain undefeated this weekend when the Tigers travel to take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Saturday.
