Manny Patterson, CB, Maine

Season Stats: 21 Total Tackles| 0.5 TFL| 4 PD

Career Stats: 85 Total Tackles| 1.5 TFL| 1 INT| 46 PD

Despite not being the biggest cornerback, Manny Patterson is arguably the best at the position amongst the small-school prospects. He is listed at only 5-foot-10, 180 pounds but makes up for his lack of size with elite athleticism. Specifically, his elite speed allows him to cover opposing receivers all over the field with the ability to recover well should he get out of position.

The best thing about Patterson’s game is the fact that he doesn’t rely purely on his athleticism to make plays. You can tell he watches a lot of film and has a high football IQ, as he will at times read and run the opposing receivers routes for them and take away the target.

While only having one career interception, he does show the ability to make plays on the ball even if it doesn’t necessarily end up as an interception. Patterson does not like to stick his nose in as a tackler in the run game. He has the skills needed to be an excellent slot corner in the NFL.

Projection: Late Round Pick (7th-UDFA)
