Ohio State. 4. DE. Chase Young. player. 812. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

Last week vs. (13) Wisconsin: 6 Total Tackles| 5 TFL| 4.0 sacks| 2 FF

Season Stats: 22 solo| 7 assisted| 29 TT| 15.5 TFL| 13.5 sacks| 1 PD| 5 FF

Yes, another Ohio State player is listed here. And yes, this one is a defensive player. That’s how good Chase Young has been this year. He was mentioned in the week three version of these rankings but fell to the wayside in regards to the Heisman Trophy almost exclusively being an offensive award. After his performance against Wisconsin, however, it’s time to take Young seriously as a legitimate contender for the Heisman Trophy.

Against Wisconsin, all Young did was record five tackles for loss, four of those being sacks, and force two fumbles. He has now recorded at least one TFL and 0.5 sacks in every single game this season! He has been nearly unstoppable as a one-man wrecking ball on the Buckeyes’ defense. He has also established himself as arguably the top overall prospect for the 2020 NFL Draft. While it is still very unlikely Young will have a real chance at winning the Heisman Trophy, he has been the most impressive player in the country so far this season and deserves to at least be invited to New York for the award presentation.

Ohio State and Young will enjoy a BYE this week before returning to the field to try and keep their record unblemished when they face Maryland on November 9th.
