Pick Analysis. Ohio State. 20. player. 28. Scouting Report. CB. Shaun Wade

With the 20th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders select Shaun Wade, cornerback, Ohio State.

Shaun Wade becomes the second Ohio State cornerback to be taken in the first round of this 2020 NFL Draft mock, just as the case was back in 2017 when Lattimore and Conley both heard their names taken in the first round. After Okudah went to the Broncos in the top ten of this mock draft, Wade now rounds out the top 20 as the Raiders use their second pick of the first round on him to address their young and struggling secondary.

Wade, a redshirt sophomore for the Buckeyes has played himself into the position to hear his name called in the first round as he has recorded an interception, six passes defended, two forced fumbles, two sacks, and three tackles for loss. This comes a year after Wade recorded three interceptions as redshirt freshman.

He has shown versatility in the Buckeyes’ defense to play both in the nickel and to play outside the numbers as well. Given the health of this cornerback class (i.e. Bryce Hall and Paulson Adebo), Wade now finds himself as the fourth quarterback off the board here to the Raiders as they turn to the defensive side of the ball with their second pick.
