This is a pick that I would be surprised if the Colts actually make at this point. Unless a stud player unexpectedly falls, I see Chris Ballard look to trade down much like he did last year. As it is, there are plenty of different directions the Colts could go with this pick. Wide Receiver, Defensive Tackle, and the Secondary are all primary needs. However, Ballard will be hard-pressed to pass on a talent like Chaisson if he is available at this pick.

The Colts really like athletic and quick pass rushers at defensive end. Just look at the two pass rushers that Ballard has drafted during his tenure, Kemoko Turay and Ben Banogu.

Chaisson definitely fits that mold as arguably the most athletic edge rusher in this draft class. He doesn’t just win with speed, however, as he has a good array of pass rush moves and uses his hands well.

This may seem like a little bit of a luxury pick for the Colts, but as the saying goes “you can never have too many pass rushers.” Plus, Jabaal Sheard is a free agent after this season and Justin Houston will be a free agent after the 2020 season.
