Darius Anderson and Sewo Olonilua, RBs, TCU

Surprise! Instead of five players to watch, we’re throwing in an extra prospect!

TCU has two running backs who contribute to their success on the ground, Darius Anderson and Sewo Olonilua. They have split the workload so far in 2019. Anderson has 136 carries for 785 and six touchdowns while averaging 5.8 yards per carry. Olonilua has 115 carries for 488 yards and six touchdowns, though he is averaging just 4.2 yards per carry. As seniors, both will be in the 2020 class, and they each provide some late-round value.

In this case, the stats do tell the story. Anderson has been the more productive running back this season, and the tape shows that. He displays impressive burst when he finds his gap to go with his lateral quickness. Anderson can be an asset in the passing game as well as the running game.

Olonilua plays with a different style to Anderson. He is a tough runner who can create after contact and power through defenders. Olonilua doesn’t have great burst or speed, but he’s scrappy between the tackles and can make defenders miss.

Both backs are sure to get carries against the Sooners, and their matchup with an Oklahoma front seven led by Murray figures to be an intriguing one. Anderson has the big-play ability, and he may need to channel that to keep this game close, while Olonilua needs to again demonstrate his value as a power in a contest where finishing drives will be crucial.
