Pick 19. 99. player. 806. . Pick Analysis. Round 1. Yetur Gross-Matos

The line of thought here was that the Titans could use some more fortifying on the EDGE even with the presence of budding star Harold Landry. Cameron Wake is 37 years old and was just recently placed on IR with a knee injury so it’s no guarantee that he’s brought back next season. If Wake is still a Titan in 2020, YGM can learn under one of the best to do it in this generation and a fellow former Nittany Lion.

Gross-Matos is an athlete that’s still learning how to harness his physical gifts and who better to teach him than Wake? The 2019 level of production is on track to better his 2018 efforts and it was a good one for him last season. He has posted 39 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, and eight sacks thus far in the 2019 season.

One of the more highly ranked EDGE rushers in the draft class behind Ohio State’s Chase Young and Iowa’s A.J. Epenesa. It remains to be seen if YGM does indeed declare for the draft as a true junior but if he does, expect him to be drafted really early based on the physical traits.

Titans GM Jon Robinson loves players who have produced consistently throughout their careers. Gross-Matos is that.
