Scouting Report

It’s a shame that a quiet day for him is only having 104 rushing yards. That alone should tell you why his stock is up. Every time Chuba Hubbard touches the ball, he’s a threat to go the distance every time with his video game like juking abilities and elusiveness.

More from With the First Pick

There’s a great deal of patience when watching him run the ball which helps leads to a lot of his explosive runs. His patience doesn’t stop him from hitting the hole when he sees it with solid burst. His long speed is adequate so he won’t burn defenders to the endzone but he’s crafty picking up yards in the open field.

Hubbard needs to learn when to lower his shoulder and pick up the tough yards if he wants to be more than just a home run hitter at the next level. Hubbard is only a few yards away from eclipsing 2,000 yards and has gone from being unknown to a guy who has given himself a chance to be drafted on day two.

Chuba Hubbard continues to be one of the better stories in all of college football this season as he continues to play for the publicity of his non-profit above anything else. It is hard not to root for a guy like him.
