Scouting Report

Similar to his teammate Quintez Cephus, it is unknown whether Caesar Williams will enter the 2020 NFL Draft, but after his strong outing against the Golden Gophers and mostly receiver Tyler Johnson, Williams has made a strong case as a viable draft prospect.

As hinted to above, Williams was often in charge of following and covering Johnson and he did so in a phenomenal fashion. He finished the game with 4 pass deflections and one ended up saving a touchdown on back-to-back plays; one on third down and the other on fourth-down forcing a turnover and giving Wisconsin the ball back within their own 5 yard-line.

Not only did he make key pass deflections on the goal-line, but he also made an interception during the first half after being tipped by one of his teammates. After being tipped by Michael Balistreri, the ball slipped through Johnson’s hands and fell right into Cephus’ gut.

Next. Jordan Love is a talented, but flawed quarterback. dark

In Wisconsin’s match-up against Minnesota it seemed as those whenever the Gophers needed a play from their defense, Williams was the guy to step up. Williams will face an even tougher test next week against the Buckeyes and if he can even come close to his performance against the Badgers, Williams may be known as one of the more underrated cornerback prospects.
