Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Clemson. 5. 879. WR. Tee Higgins. player

If you watch Clemson closely, then you probably know Tee Higgins very well. In terms of the 2020 NFL Draft, however, he tends to be a forgotten guy in a loaded wide receiver class. Higgins has been a favorite target for Trevor Lawrence all season to the tune of 43 receptions, 900 yards, and 10 touchdowns.

Clemson has become known for developing big possession-type receivers in recent years. At 6’4″ and 215 pounds, Higgins is the next in wideout in that mold to come out of Clemson. He uses his size well to gain positioning against defensive backs and consistently win jump ball situations. While he does need some time to get up to speed at the snap, Higgins is actually an excellent, long-striding deep threat who can get behind defenses. An underrated part of Higgins’ game is his ability as a blocker in the run game to help Travis Etienne break free for big gains.

Higgins should be a focal point of the offense as Virginia — minus the injured Bryce Hall — lacks a defensive back that can match up with Higgins’ size, speed, and strength. Look for Higgins to be targeted a lot on third downs, in the redzone, and other key situations in the game as Lawrence’s safety blanket.
