Utah has an argument having the best defensive front seven on the west coast if not the entire country. Who are they?

6 Bradlee Anae 6’3 265 EDGE Senior

Anae is arguably the best EDGE prospect in the Pac-12 conference. He leads the conference and is seventh nationally in sacks with 12.5. Possesses an excellent arsenal of pass rush moves to fool tackles. He’s a strong athlete at the point of attack and brings a physicality to the position. Not the best athlete however but he has enough to force poor leverage situations for the blocker. He has accepted his Senior Bowl invite.

99 Leki Fotu 6’5 323 DL Senior

Fotu has the height, weight, and length that NFL teams will covet along with his skill set as an interior pass rusher. A former offensive tackle so he knows how to defeat them. Long arms allow him to keep the guards at bay along with his power game. A good burst off the snap. He’s one of the best interior defensive linemen prospects in the nation. Can play either a 3-4 nose tackle or 4-3 defensive tackle. He has accepted his Senior Bowl invite.

52 John Penisini 6’2 307 DL Senior

An underrated prospect due to the guys next to him on Utah’s menacing front but he’s a good defensive tackle. The key cog on the line that drives that fearsome engine. He’s improved his fundamentals a lot this season. Has accepted his Shrine Game invite.

36 Francis Bernard 6’1 239 LB Senior

Bernard actually switched sides in the Holy War after starting out at BYU as a running back. He converted to linebacker before transferring to Utah and it has helped him in spades. He’s a key piece for the Utes defense. He reads offenses very well due to his experience at running back. Played well enough to garner a Senior Bowl invitation.
