1. D’Andre Swift, Georgia

After splitting time with Elijah Holyfield in 2018, D’Andre Swift became the main ball carrier this season. He has over 1,400 yards from scrimmage as the lead back. His raw numbers don’t leap of the page like some of the other runners in this class, but his tape shows what a star he can be.

The clip above is from last season, but demonstrates what Swift does better than anyone else. His footwork is as smooth, and his change of direction as strong as anyone in recent memory. He puts his foot in the ground, and without losing any momentum makes the cut upfield and by the defender. Swift has the best feet in college football, and paired with elite speed and acceleration, he’s a great weapon.

Like Etienne, Swift could sneak into round one on draft day. He is dealing with a recent shoulder injury that NFL teams will keep an eye on, but if healthy he has few weaknesses. D’Andre Swift is the best running back in college football, the 2020 NFL Draft, and is nearly as flashy as they come on film with his ability to change direction and plant his foot in the ground without the loss of acceleration.
