Day One:

1st ROUND, 2nd overall: Chase Young | EDGE | Ohio State | Junior

This selection is an obvious no-brainer. In drastic need of revitalizing a once-storied pass rush, the Giants should sprint to the podium to turn this pick in. Chase Young is a physical marvel that possesses a chiseled frame rocked out with excellent muscle mass, ideal length measuring at 6’5”, and short-area quickness that is blindingly fast. In addition, Young converts speed to power, has experienced all over the formation including from two-point stances, and has a bevy of pass rush moves in his repertoire.

While former free agent EDGE Markus Golden has absolutely outplayed his one-year contract, the Giants will need a definitive blue-chip player to stabilize the entirety of the pass rush. Imagine how much Young’s existence alone would change an opposing offensive coordinator’s gameplan, especially at the line of scrimmage. The 2019 Bronko Nagurski Award winner would be the defensive equivalent to Saquon Barkley’s game-changing ability.

The first defensive Heisman Trophy finalist since Peppers, Chase Young has been an absolute gamebreaker for the Buckeyes this year. Easily the best player in the draft, Young lands in the lap of the Giants after Joe Burrow goes first overall.
