One of the most talented prospects in the 2020 NFL Draft has made it official as Georgia offensive tackle Andrew Thomas has declared for the draft.

The white whale has declared for the 2020 NFL Draft: the University of Georgia’s offensive tackle Andrew Thomas has decided to forego his senior season. He has also announced that he will skip the Sugar Bowl in order to preserve his body and prepare for the pre-draft process.

This should not come as a surprise, as Thomas has all of the makings of a top-five pick in this draft class and currently sits as this writer’s third overall prospect in the draft. In a tackle class laden with talent like Prince Tega Wanogho, Tristan Wirfs, Jedrick Wills, and more, Thomas stands out above the rest in the opinions of most draftniks and scouts. In most mock drafts that are being published, it is rare to see Thomas slip out of the top three.

A three year starter at the University of Georgia, Thomas has become a highly decorated player for the Bulldogs during his time in Athens. As a true freshman, Thomas was named to the freshman All-American team fresh out of high school; he started his career at Georgia as their right tackle before flipping to the left side of the line in 2018.

Starting every game at left tackle in 2018, Thomas earned multiple first and second team All-American honors from publications across the country, and was named to the first team All-SEC team by the coaches around the conference.

A semi-finalist for the Outland Trophy this year, Thomas was also awarded the SEC’s Jacobs Blocking Trophy, first team All-SEC for the second straight season, and was the co-winner of Georgia’s offensive MVP award among other honors. Thomas has a full arsenal of awards at his disposal, Thomas has become a highly regarded prospect in the 2020 NFL Draft.
