Amik Robertson is a small corner at a small school but his game is huge. This ballhawk is giving us Tyrann Mathieu flashbacks in the 2020 NFL Draft.

There is no one better in all of the land at finding the football than Lousiana Tech cornerback Amik Robertson; there might be a picture of his face next to the term “ball hawk” in the football glossary. He is ready to take his talents to the next level after declaring for the 2020 NFL Draft.

Elite ball skills are hard to find and he makes it look so easy. A three-year starter at Louisiana Tech, Robertson is only a true junior yet has already racked up 14 interceptions and 48 passes defended up to this point in his career. Seeing him dominate the level he’s playing at is what you want to see from a non-power five prospect and his play was validated by his All-American status he claimed this season.

The nickel has become an important position in an NFL defense. In response to offenses constantly trying to spread teams out, defenses have responded by playing a majority of their snaps with an extra defensive back on the field; a nickelback is now basically a starting position in an NFL defense because they will play in a majority of the snaps.

He is feisty and loves to compete which means when you turn on the tape you don’t need to worry about measuring his height. Amik Robertson will probably spend a majority of his career as a nickel corner and there is nothing wrong with that.

He has all the traits to translate seamlessly into that spot and be a superstar. Amik Robertson has an exciting NFL career in front of him because his ball skills are an elite trait that every defensive coordinator wants to have in their secondary.
