Cincinnati Bengals first overall pick should be locked in

Quarterback Joe Burrow is the near-unanimous choice of Bengals fans to be the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Every mock draft in the world is going to have Joe Burrow going to the Cincinnati Bengals with the first pick. It just makes the most sense. First of all, they need one. Andy Dalton was benched earlier this season, and even though he regained the starting spot after a few games, he has had perhaps his worst professional season. It’s almost certain that he’s playing somewhere else in 2020.

Secondly, and just as importantly, Burrow is a tremendous prospect. There are playoff games left to play, but the season he is having is a historic one. He completed and astounding 78% of his passes for over 4,700 yards and a nation-leading 48 touchdowns. He won a Heisman and is two wins away from winning a National Championship to cap things off.

The stats are great, but his tape is what makes him the top pick of the draft. Even without an elite arm, he can make every throw. He consistently puts the ball where it needs to be, even outside the numbers. His accuracy is impossibly good as well. As a bonus, he can use his legs to make plays too. He should be the pick. But……
